Why do you charge setup fees on some accounts?

To discourage "host hopping" (opening a new account with a separate provider on a frequent basis to save a few pennies) and customers who sign up for the cheapest account and abuse it (by sending SPAM, etc) until it is turned off. By charging a setup fee on monthly and quarterly accounts, we hope to either encourage users to purchase a longer pre-paid account (such as semi-annual or annual) or that they have made an investment in the service (via the setup fee) to keep the account longer. And prevent someone from purchasing an account who is not actually planning on keeping it or using it.

We offer a 30-day money back guarantee, so if you purchase a years worth of hosting and are unsatisfied within the first 30 days, you are entitled to a full refund. This offer is only available to brand new customers and will only be given once, preventing someone from repeatedly abusing this offer.

If you would like a temporary test account to try out the service for a few days, please contact us and we'll be happy to set one up for you!

Some addons have setup fees as well, which is typically to recover the cost of licensing and other upfront costs we have to pay in order to enable the service for you.  An example would be blackberry connectivity on Exchange accounts.  An additional license would have to be activated and we are required to pay a license fee to the vendor.
