What is Anonymous FTP?

Anonymous FTP allows a user to login with the username "anonymous" and providing their email address as a password.

By default, anonymous FTP users cannot upload files. You, the client do not want to be responsible for content uploaded by an anonymous ftp user which may be illegal or inviolation of our AUP, or other policies.

If you need for a particular person to be able to upoad information pertaining to your website, you should consider giving them their own FTP account.

Anonymous FTP users are restricted to your public_ftp diretory located in the root of your account. These users cannot move below this directory, however, they can move into directories inside of public_ftp.

Anonymous FTP is intended as a means for you to offer files for download by users via FTP which is sometimes faster, and may be required by some applications or certain firewall restrictions of larger corporations.

Not all servers have Anonymous FTP access enabled, if you require this service, please open a ticket.
