What will it cost to get a site on the internet?

This depends heavily on what you want or need your site to be.

First of all, you will need a domain name. This is the address that people will find you at on the internet. For example if your company was Bobs Pool Supply, you would want something easy to remember and relevant to your company. Getting something like www.bobspoolsupply.com is much better looking and easier to remember than www.freewebsitehosts/userpages/bob1234.

Please keep in mind, that the name you want may already be taken by someone else, so think of alternatives. If your company is in Texas, you could add that to the name, etc.

The domain registration through us will cost $14.95 for an entire year, but this is only for the domain name. You will also need webhosting, which is the service that allows you to put up a page that is visible to everyone on the internet who goes to your domain name.

If you do not have any experience in designing a webpage, or need to do more complicated things that you do not know how to do or maintain, you will need to hire someone or a company to design a page or entire site for you. Additionally, you may with to pay them some sort of retainer to maintain the site or update it frequently.

Web design can run anywhere from $50-100 for a simple webpage or set of 2-4 pages with basic information about your company to thousands for the design, programming, and maintenance of a professional site with such features as a shopping cart and online store.
