When:
Feb 2, 2007 11:00pm - Feb 3, 2007 2:00am CST (GMT -6)
What:
SSA Host will be performing system-wide maintenance and kernel upgrades on all of our servers including VPS servers. The kernel updates fix a number of security holes that have been discovered in mainstream Linux (Affecting all accounts) as well as Virtuozzo kernels (For VPS accounts) and as such, should be applied as soon as possible.
A reboot of all servers will be required in order to load new kernel code, resulting in a short downtime which should not exceed 30-60 minutes. We have scheduled a 3-hour window to perform the updates and maintenance on all servers, but expect the actual work to only take 1-2 hours.
How this affects you:
Your hosting service will experience a downtime (your website, email, etc. will be unavailable) for a short duration (30-60 minutes max) at some point during this maintenance window. None of your files or emails will be lost, however you may not be able to open your website or send/receive email if using an email client or our webmail.
